Camborne Celebrates the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

For the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Camborne Town Council ran two community events to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II 70 years on the throne.

The celebrations started on the Thursday evening, with the Beacon Lighting Ceremony. The evening included performances from a local Bugler, and Holman's Climax Male Voice Choir.

The Beacon was lit at 9:45, in line with the International Beacon Lightings, and was one of over 1500 Beacons to be lit across the world.

The celebrations continued over the weekend, with the Picnic in the Park on Sunday afternoon.

We were joined by the Cornish Barista, Mr B's ice-cream van, the Sweet Chariot and Swamp Circus, to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon in Camborne Recreation Ground.

The weather was kind to us, and only rained once we'd finished packing up!

All in all it was a lovely weekend enjoyed by all, and a chance for the community to come together to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee.
