Ten Years for Fairtrade Camborne
Sunday 9th August marks the 10th anniversary of Camborne becoming a Fairtrade Town.
Brian Terry, Camborne Fair Trade Town Leader, has been with the project since the beginning and is pleased to see it through to this milestone.
‘So many people and organisations have contributed to what is a whole town success. Special thanks must go to Camborne Town Council, Camborne Regeneration Forum, Churches Together and BID Camborne for their ongoing support, but the greatest thanks is to the Fairtrade businesses that trade and continue to give producers in less developed parts of the world a living wage for their hard work.’
Every time you choose to purchase Fairtrade in Camborne you support your local trader and at the same time you help farming communities in developing countries take a step towards a brighter future. Fairtrade products ensure fair prices paid to producers, no child labour used in production and sustainable production methods are used.
Camborne is one of only around 500 Fairtrade Towns in the world. The Fairtrade Flag will be proudly flown from the Passmore Edwards Building this weekend to mark a decade of Fairtrade success in the town.
