Camborne Town Council COVID-19 Operational Update- Community Events
Camborne Town Council regrets to announce we will be postponing or cancelling all scheduled non-essential events and activities that involve community gatherings until further notice.
We are very conscious of the varied demographic of participants involved in the activities of the Town Council and we feel it is essential we make decisions over the coming weeks to help protect the health of those vulnerable to the effects of the COVID-19 virus.
Whilst the Government has not yet announced cancellations of large events and mass public gatherings, we feel it is essential to act proactively and consider the risk posed to the elderly and those with underlying health conditions.
Camborne Town Council continues to act with the best interests of the community at the heart and although this news is deeply disappointing, we feel we are making informed and appropriate decisions to reduce the risks associated with the COVID-19 virus.
The Library Service is currently operating its essential service, but enrichment activities have been postponed until further notice. The Town Council Offices also remain open at this point. Additional cleaning and hygiene processes are taking place within the building to assist with reducing the risk posed by the virus.
At this point in time, all Committee and Full Council meetings are currently scheduled to proceed, but we anticipate there may be an impact on these too.
The following events have now been cancelled or postponed. Postponements will be re-scheduled in due course. Events due to happen later in the year are currently considered ‘on’ although we will be reviewing regularly as time passes.
Library Postponements: Book Club, Knit & Natter, Lego Club, Rhymetime
Beacon Spring Festival - Postponed
The Great British Spring Clean (Camborne)- Cancelled
Trevithick Day (Town Council Activities) - Cancelled
Camborne Community & Commerce Awards Ceremony- Postponed
We hope our actions offer the assurance that we act with the safety and wellbeing of our residents as paramount. We thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.
