At Camborne Library we go above and beyond to provide an exemplary core library service alongside a host of activities and clubs for the community to enjoy. We like to think we’re at the heart of the community here in Camborne, we certainly put ‘Community First’ in all we do.

You’ll find fiction, non-fiction, audiobooks and DVD’s available to borrow for up to 3 weeks. As a member of the library, you can also access the Cornwall-wide stock through the Cornwall Libraries webpage or with our assistance in the library. Can’t find what you’re looking for? We can request new items to be purchased through Cornwall Libraries and added to the catalogue on your behalf.

Camborne Library happens when you mix an efficient library service with a cup full of new ideas and a hearty pour of community.

Council Payments and Services:

  • National Concessionary bus pass applications are quick and easy to apply for online.
  • Recycling bags and boxes can be ordered online. Please use the request recycling equipment / recycling containment online form.
  • Council Payments. Payments for Council services cannot be taken at this location. This includes Council Tax or Business Rates. However there are a range of PayPoint and Post Office sites that accept both cash and card payments. Most Post Offices still accept cheques at no extra cost.  Your account will be updated overnight. Many PayPoint stores have longer opening hours, often including weekends. Children’s Activities

  • Lego STEM Club
    Combining areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics; our fresh take on Lego Club will have you facing off against new exciting challenges every week! Use your smarts to solve colourful conundrums and earn yourself a coveted certificate of completion. Can you win or will you brick it? Tuesday afternoons during term-time. 3:30pm – 4:45pm. Free to attend. No booking required. For KS1/KS2/KS3
  • Rhyme Time
    Gather round and sing along together! Our baby-bounce group involve a mix of songs, rhymes, rhythm and movement to help nourish your little ones. Rhyme Time is also a friendly, inclusive space for parents and carers to meet up, mingle and make new friends.
    Wednesday mornings. 10.30am – 11am. Free to attend. No booking required. For babies and preschool children.
  • Theatre Club
    Lights. Camera. ACTION! Sing, dance, and act your way through weekly rehearsals in the lead up to a grand performance. New members must sign-up beforehand in the library. Ages
    Wednesdays afternoons during term-time. 3:45pm – 4:45pm. Free to attend. Booking required. For KS1/KS2.
  • Story Time & Craft
    Come and listen to a story then get creative with a matching craft! We read a different story every Saturday morning and follow-up with a craft activity for you to make independently. Make the library a weekly visit and give your child the gift of reading. Saturday mornings. Story Time begins at 10.30am. Free to attend. No booking required. For KS1/KS2.

Clubs and Events

  • Poetry for Pleasure
    Are you a wordsmith, a fan of putting pen to paper, or simply searching for a creative avenue to experiment with? Tackling a new theme every month, our poetry club is an opportunity to get together, share and discuss in a social setting with other writers and poetry enthusiasts. We have a friendly group of regular attendees who love to have a laugh, or a cry, and welcome both complete novices and literary masters. First Tuesday of the month. 11am – 12pm. Free to attend. No booking required.
  • Knit and Natter
    Join an ever-growing group of knitters who prove that you need not be quiet in our library. Don your knitting needles or equip a crochet hook for a morning of teas and coffees, biscuits and good old-fashioned chatter. Friday mornings. 10am – 12pm. Open to all ages and abilities.
  • Book Group
    When a book is like marmite, you’re bound to have a great discussion at Camborne Library’s book group. Meetings take place monthly. Limited capacity so please enquire at the library if you would like to join. Third Wednesday of the month. 2pm.
  • Monthly Makers
    Whether it’s fused glass work or tote bags, wreath-making or crochet, there’s a lot to be excited about with our Monthly Makers sessions. Pioneering last year, these taster courses invite you to get a taste for different practices in and leave the session with your creation in hand. Tickets are priced according to the cost of materials and we keep them as affordable as possible – sometimes even free! Fourth Tuesday of the month and an accompanying Saturday. Times may vary.
  • Special Activities
